Don’t sell Kenmore Police Station

The former Kenmore police station in Princeton Street has not been used for over 5 years, is in a dilapidated state and appears destined for sale by the State Government.
The Government is adamant that it will not be used as a police station again but our area desperately lacks community facilities and publicly owned buildings. Many local groups cannot find anywhere to conduct their activities. Some of these groups provide valuable services to our community. If the State Government is not going to use the building it should remain in the hands of the community hands.
I have repeatedly approached the Government on behalf of the Kenmore-Moggill RSL who do such a wonderful job in our community but have been unable to find a local base or office.
Other wonderful groups like SPACE also have major issues around community buildings.
AS it is we do not have enough publicly owned facilities locally – so let’s not sell off what little we do have!
The Government has already sold off land earmarked for a fire station at Moggill, sold off land at Chuwar which was to be the site of a much needed high school – what’s going on?
