What is happening with local ambulance service?

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

The Government, via the Queensland Ambulance Service is calling for more volunteers for Bellbowrie First Responders Program.

There is a meeting at the Bellbowrie Community Church to be held on 13th July at 7.00pm.

The First Responders Program is in essence a substitute for ambulance attendance in emergencies.

Currently for any area west of Kenmore, only 25% Code 1 emergencies are attended on time.

In the recent State Budget the Government announced a partial allocation for a new ambulance station at Pinjarra Hills.

My urgent enquiries of the Minister as to how this site was chosen and whether or not they intend to close the existing Kenmore Ambulance Centre have to date received an acknowledgement but no reply. I think locals deserve better particularly in a vital area like emergency ambulance services and I will continue to pursue this matter. Surely we deserve to be consulted about such decisions.

The State Government has, only recently, sold off an emergency services site at Bellbowrie
