Minister replies on ambulance station

Attached is a response received from the Minister for Emergency Services in relation to my questions about the new Pinjarra Hills ambulance station. To read the Minister’s response click here.
It is interesting that the Minister consider that community consultation has occurred on the basis of the erection of a sign on the site over a year after the purchase of the site and the apparent decision to proceed. The Minister obviously had a completely different concept of what constitutes community consultation than what I have.
Make no mistake I am overwhelmingly supportive of a new ambulance station and in fact have spent the past 5 years fighting to get a new ambulance station to improve response times. I do however believe the local community and its elected local representatives in myself and Margaret de Wit could have and should have been “let into the secret” during the planning process to ensure that our local community had some sort of say in this important local ambulance decision.
