Moggill Public Transport Survey

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

My recent survey of residents within the Moggill electorate in relation to public transport revealed some interesting responses.  I wish to express my strong thanks to those who took the time and trouble to respond.  The responses are important as I will use this feedback in my representations on behalf of local residents.

Respondents were overwhelmingly public transport patrons with 53% being regular users and 45% being occasional users of public transport.

  • Respondents strongly supported ticketless services during peak hour.  49% in favour and 17% opposed.
  • On the issue of whether Park and Ride facilities would increase access and use of public transport 68% said it would, with 25% saying it would not increase their use or access to public transport.
  • In the strongest response of the survey an overwhelming 81.5% of respondents said that additional services during peak hours were needed and if available would increase patronage, 11% said they would not.
  • 79.5% of respondents said they supported the extension of Translink services at both Moggill and Karana Downs, only 8.7% did not.
  • On the issue of connectivity of bus to our nearest railway station at Indooroopilly, 76% said that if connection was better they would use rail more frequently, 17% said they would not.
  • 39.6% said they had been left behind by buses that were full or had driven past whilst 47.3% had not.
