No joy on Kenmore Bypass

After having waited since May for some indication of the government's intention in relation to the Kenmore Bypass, I eventually obtained a ministerial briefing in December 2010.
The briefing contained no joy for local residents who continue to battle some of the worst traffic congestion in Brisbane along Moggill Road.
Essentially the government has made no decision in relation to the Kenmore Bypass and are awaiting a review of traffic conditions on the Western Freeway!
While Campbell Newman is getting on with building the Northern Link Tunnel from the chronically inadequate Toowong roundabout, it seems amazing that the government are yet to even consider the inadequacy of the Centenary/Western Freeway from Sumner Road to Toowong.
The only new information I was able to glean is that their estimated costing for a 2 lane bypass was $560million or a 4 lane bypass $950million and that technically the engineers considered the project reasonably straightforward.
