ISLAND IN THE FLOOD
Monday, 12 December 2011 10:52
"Island in the Flood", written by local author Neville Marsh, is a factual account of the flooding which isolated Moggill, Bellbowrie and Anstead in January this year.
Many stories, often heartbreaking and sometimes amusing (and over 140 colour photographs) have been captured in this book. It looks at how weather conditions conspired to produce the floods, what happened and how we survived the crisis, what lessons we have learned. The book also looks at the findings of the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry as they relate particularly to the western suburbs.
All proceeds from purchases of this book will now be devoted to the rehabilitation of flood victims in Bellbowrie, Moggill and Anstead (productions costs have already been recovered).
The cost of this historic account is $25 and is available for purchase from:-
