After 2yrs Moggill Rd still isn’t finished!

I was dismayed to hear that roadworks on Moggill Road between Pullenvale Road and Kilkivan Avenue are still not finished.
Another layer of bitumen is to be applied to the entire project and that this will take at least two weeks commencing shortly.
Local residents have endured 2 years of disruptive roadworks. This project should have been completed during the New Year break.
Local families are back at school and work. Shortly university will resume.
The question must be asked “ why couldn’t this work have been done during the quiet January period?”
I share the frustration of local motorists. Obviously the project must be completed but the convenience of local road users must be an important consideration when planning the timetable.
I have written to the Minister requesting any further work be done only at night and that the impact on road users be given due consideration. To read my letter click here.
Work was done in January on footpaths and median strips. Surely the road surface could have also been done during this quieter time.
