Latest on Moggill Road

The Department of Main Roads has written in relation to my concerns about the timing of traffic lights along the new section of Moggill Road. The lights as yet are not functioning on traffic demand but are on a timer awaiting some works from Telstra. It is good to have an explanation but this doesn’t help local drivers.
They have responded also in relation to my concerns that the final bitumen skin was not completed during the Christmas holiday quiet period.
They have not given me a date for this final layer to be applied but have indicated that the roadworks will not be conducted at night to avoid noise for local residents and will be conducted during the day but during off-peak hours. This certainly seems the hard way to do it as there is no true off-peak period during the day on Moggill Road.
Whilst I am not really happy I am pleased to be able to update you on their latest response. If you want to read the Department’s letter click here.
