Other local road matters

I raised again with the Main Roads Department my concern for the intersection of Moggill Road and Grandview Road which I consider to be the number one safety issue on our local road system. It was indicated to me that signalisation of this intersection could be considered.
The proposed signalisation and pedestrian crossing at Moggill Road and Birkin Road in Bellbowrie is at this stage planned for completion by the end of the year.Managed motorway program
The Department of Main Roads is looking at a managed motorway program for the Western Freeway and Centenary Motorway.
This would give illuminated street signs that at peak times could lower the speed limit. The Department are adamant that this action actually improves traffic flow.
Whilst I have no reason to disbelieve them I pointed out that, as far as local residents were concerned for our end of the Western Freeway in a morning peak hour in particular, speed restrictions were almost meaningless as the motorway crawls inbound almost constantly through an extended morning peak.
Anything that improves traffic flow, of course would be welcomed.
