Policing of school speed zone

To date there has been no policing of the school speed zone in central Kenmore. Drivers can now expect enforcement action. 

Police will target motorists who exceed the 40kph speed limit in the school zone between OLR and the Kenmore roundabout on Moggill Road. 

Importantly speed surveys have been conducted. They showed a large number of drivers were detected exceeding the speed limit by 30 kph. 

Drivers were also observed failing to stop for red lights on the pedestrian crossings.If we are to genuinely make central Kenmore safer I really believe we have an important duty to protect pedestrians, children in particular.  .  

This behaviour indicates a clear need for enforcement and  I have urged enforcement activity.  Hopefully policing will ensure drivers observe the school speed zone.
