Consideration is being given to the use of either flashing lights or illuminated speed signs for the school speed zone through central Kenmore. 

These signs would only be activated during the times that the school speed zone is active and would draw motorists’ attention to the speed restriction. 

I would be strongly supportive of these measures particularly in view of the fact that school speed zones vary slightly in time around Brisbane and motorists may not always be aware of the exact time.  But principally their aim would be to draw attention to the fact that the school speed zone is in force at the moment.
